GAY SPEED DATING NYC · HELP & INFORMATION
LESS GUESSWORK. MORE SPARK.
Everything you need to know before attending The Matchmaking Ball—or helping bring one to life.
An HKNY Entertainment social dance built around guest-approved nicknames, grand introductions, themed host-led pairing ceremonies, three-song slow-dance rounds and private mutual matching. It's a real night out, not a dating-app session.
No. The hosts introduce the guests to the room and theatrically select dance partners. About half the eligible participants are invited to dance or talk in each three-song round while everyone else mingles. The next round introduces fresh pairings.
No. You can arrive with a friend if the edition's admission and eligibility conditions permit it. The hosted format also welcomes guests arriving independently.
No. Nicknames, onstage introductions, pairings, games and slow dancing are voluntary; you can choose a conversation without physical contact instead. All guests must still respect check-in procedures, venue rules and other participants' boundaries.
A mutual match is never guaranteed. The aim is an enjoyable evening of meeting people—whether you leave with a date prospect, new acquaintances or simply a good story.
Check the ATTEND page for announced editions and official registration links. Only an event listing with a published date, location and registration details should be treated as confirmed.
Follow the instructions for your particular edition. Some events may require advance registration and have limited capacity; walk-in admission should never be assumed.
Each edition will publish its age requirements and participant eligibility before registration opens. Because some events take place in licensed nightlife venues, venue rules and identification requirements may also apply.
Admission details are set for each edition. An event may be sponsor-supported, RSVP-based or ticketed; any prices and conditions are displayed before registration or purchase. Sponsor funding does not automatically mean free entry.
Slow dancing is not a VIP privilege. Where offered, VIP may include a distinct hosted activity, reserved area or other clearly listed extras. It never guarantees a romantic match, priority access to another guest or preferential handling of private selections.
Dress for an enjoyable night out. Each event will identify any venue dress requirements or special theme in its listing.
The edition's registration or ticketing terms will explain cancellation, refunds, transferability and what happens if the event is postponed. Review them before submitting payment or confirming attendance.
The hosts make temporary introductions using a themed draw or playful selection, but never determine romantic interest. Guests privately indicate interest through the method described for the specific event. A connection can be facilitated only when both participants independently choose to connect and the applicable contact-sharing consent requirements are met.
No public ranking or forced reveal is part of the intended format. Private selections are handled through the designated matching process, not announced to the room.
No. One-sided interest does not authorize disclosure. Any exchange or introduction follows the contact-sharing consent terms shown during registration.
No. A sponsor buys agreed promotional benefits, not access to private romantic preferences, match selections or participant contact lists. A host venue does not receive private matching records as part of hosting.
An edition's registration materials will explain its photography and video practices, including any applicable notice or permission process. Ask the event team about a privacy concern before participating.
Respect boundaries. No harassment, pressure, unwanted physical contact or retaliation for declining an interaction. Guests must also follow venue rules and the published event conduct policy; organizers may intervene when necessary.
Use the universal HKNY sponsorship inquiry form. Commercial partners can discuss Presenting, Topline, Spotlight, Production, Encores (where offered) or Gallery sponsorship opportunities. Every accepted package is documented with its benefits and financial terms.
Yes—suitable venues can apply through HKNY's universal hosting inquiry. Under the standard sponsor-funded model, the venue provides the space, operates hospitality and retains its ordinary food and bar revenue. Venue obligations and any additional costs are confirmed separately.
SPONSOR finances a production in exchange for defined promotional rights. HOST provides the venue for a sponsor-funded show. HKNY organizes the production. There is no separate BOOK pathway in the standard commercial model.
Explore the Gay Speed Dating NYC sponsorship profile on OpenCall.NYC for the production overview, then use HKNY's sponsorship form to start a conversation.
For upcoming event announcements, start with ATTEND. For commercial partnerships, use the SPONSOR or HOST inquiry form. Guest registration, conduct, privacy and ticketing terms are provided for each confirmed edition.
